Are GMOs Beneficial or Harmful? Final Paper

Abstract 

Lately, there has been a controversy in the scientific field over the topic of GMOs. To be more specific, there has been controversy over whether or not GMOs are more beneficial than they are harmful. This controversy focuses on whether or not GMOs are more advantageous to humans or rather are they dangerous to humans. However, before going into the information containing the benefits and the harms of GMOs, the reader must be informed. The reader must be informed as to what GMOs are, how they are made, and where they are found. Afterward, the reader must be informed as to what benefits one can obtain from GMOs. Specifically, these are benefits that not only help one group of people, instead these benefits help more than just people. There is an abundance of benefits due to the use of GMOs. Peer-reviewed sources such as scientific journals, news articles, and more, present a plethora of different benefits thanks to GMOs. Although GMOs might be highly beneficial, the reader must also be informed of the harms or possible harms that are created by GMOs. Some sources such as the World Health Organization have gone as far as to claim that GMOs could possibly be harmful to humans. Nevertheless, even though the WHO has raised concerns over the harms of GMOs, the benefits of these GMOs will always outweigh the harms. GMOs have proven to improve with time which results in even more benefits to reap.  Ultimately, people must be able to decide for themselves as to whether or not GMOs are more beneficial than they are harmful.
