She is a born and raised American who studied for her writing degree at the University of Iowa, she is 65 years old and still works in the writing field specifically as a freelancer.

The article has a couple of different purposes for the readers. The main purpose of the article is to inform people of what it is like to live with Breast Cancer. To be more specific, the author of the article, Wisenberg, explains the effects that cancer may have. She goes into detail on the effects it has on the people who surround you. She also describes and informs the reader of the effect that cancer has on her job environment. More importantly, she describes the effects that cancer has on the body. Since Wiswnberg battled breast cancer, she focuses on informing the reader of how cancer affected her life. However, she doesn’t just focus on the physical effects that breast cancer has on the body. Wisenberg also details the effects that breast cancer has on her mental and emotional state as well. Her position is clearly presented throughout the article. Wisenberg is strongly against breast cancer and supports anything that goes in favor of eradicating cancer.   

The writer of the article directs her work towards a large audience made up of different groups. The majority of her audience is made up of women, especially women battling breast cancer. Also, the majority of her audience is made up of college students in Colorado.  However, she is also able to direct this article to another group of women, as well as even a group of men. To be more specific, Wisenberg is able to direct this article to the families of women who are battling breast cancer. Whether they may be mothers, sisters, fathers, husbands, Wisenberg is able to direct this to them by indicating how they could help the woman battling cancer thrive and not fall in a mental sense. 

The genre of this work of writing is definitely an article. To be more specific, this is a journalistic article. This is due to the fact that it was published in a journal. To be more specific, it was published in a journal for the University of Colorado. The journal is used and read not only by the students but others around the community as well whether they be staff or simply members of the community that read the journal as well.

The article is unique in the sense that the location of the article is never specifically named. Wisenberg always refers to the locations in the article by using fake names or nicknames throughout her writing. Furthermore, the time setting is never specifically mentioned in the article. However, after reading the article one can assume that the article takes place during modern times. Although world events were not mentioned, the article was written in the year 2009. To be more specific, this article was published during march 2009, according to the news there were no major events that would have affected the method of documentation.
